'Jackass' Star Ryan Dunn Was Intoxicated When He Died

At the time of his fatal car accident earlier this week, "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn was intoxicated, a West Chester, Pennsylvania, police official confirmed to MTV News. The skater and stuntman had a blood alcohol level of .196 when he got behind the wheel on Monday; the legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08.A police official also confirmed that Dunn had been driving his Porsche upward of 130 mph when he crashed and died, along with his passenger, Zachary D. Hartwell. No other substances were found in his body.On Tuesday, police said the investigation into the crash that killed Dunn, 34, and Hartwell, 30, revealed that Dunn's Porsche may have jumped a guardrail and crashed into a ravine before bursting into flames after the two men left the bar Barnaby's of America in West Chester. A coroner's report revealed that both men died of blunt force trauma from the impact of the wreck and burns from the resulting fire. While toxicology results may prove otherwise, an employee of Barnaby's told MTV News earlier this week that, the night before the crash, Dunn "didn't seem intoxicated. He seemed like he was having a good time, hanging out with his friends." The Barnaby's worker further noted that Dunn "only had a couple beers here. As far as we're concerned, the biggest thing, our hearts go out to the family and friends, and his loss is a big loss to our community. The biggest thing we're worried about is his friends and family."

Dunn's longtime pal Bam Margera tearfully spoke to a Fox affiliate in Pennsylvania near the scene of the accident, saying, "I've never lost anybody that I care about; he's my best friend.

"He was the happiest person, the smartest guy with so much talent," Margera continued. "He had so many things going for him. ... It is not right. ... It was the worst phone call I ever got in my life."

MTV News also traveled to Dunn's adopted hometown of West Chester PA, and found many who remembered the "Jackass" star not for his celebrity status, but rather for his ability to remain modest despite living in the limelight.

"He was real," said Sam Ford, who was celebrating her 25th birthday at Barnaby's, the last place Dunn was seen before his crash. Brock Jackson, 31, who said he grew up playing Little League with Bam Margera says Dunn had "truly kind eyes" and "a heart and a half." He was especially impressed by the well-known resident's memory, saying, "He remembered every time he met somebody."

The big spending, bad Bruins

Turns out the Boston Bruins really are big and BAD.The Stanley Cup champions really let loose after their victory parade through Boston on Saturday morning, partying into the night at the Shrine nightclub at Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut. And when it was over, the Bruins had racked up an astonishing four-hour bar tab that totalled $156,679.74 U.S., which included a $100,000 bottle of Ace of Spades "Midas" champagne and a built-in tip of $24,869.80 for a server named Danielle (according to a photograph of the bill).

The Boston Globe and boston  reported that nightclub owners Ed Kane, Joe Kane and Randy Greenstein hand-delivered the 30-litre "Midas" bottle, believed to be one of six in existence. The bottle was twice the size of the 15-litre Ace of Spades brut that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban purchased for his team after its NBA championship a little more than a week ago. The Mavericks actually outspent the Bruins at their party, running up a tab of nearly $200,000.Some other highlights on the Bruins' tab: 35 Jager Bombs totalling $525, three bottles of Captain Morgan rum at $300 each, nine Grey Goose Magnums at $600 a pop and 136 Bud Lights totalling $680.
The "Midas" bottle, which was signed by every Bruins team member in attendance, will be on display at High Rollers at Foxwoods and will be raffled off at a later date to benefit the Bruins' charitable foundation.

According to the Globe, "before anyone could sample the Champagne, it had to be opened - and that proved difficult. Zdeno Chara tried, but the 6-9 defenceman couldn't do it. Finally, after a few failed attempts, the cork was removed, and the Champagne was poured into the Stanley Cup."

The newspaper said that while Chara, wearing jeans and an Ed Hardy T-shirt, proved he could dance, "no one kicked it like Brad Marchand and rookie Tyler Seguin, who spent much of the night on top of the bar, shirtless, and spritzing the crowd with champagne.

"They were occasionally joined by teammates, some of whom seemed to be using these postseason parties to perfect their Dougie, the dance made famous by Lil' Wil. Even the team's oldest player, 43-year-old Mark Recchi, jumped up on the bar and busted a move."

Lacoste, Coach and Nike sneakers found in bust

Authorities seized over $100,000 in Lacoste, Prada, Ed Hardy and Louis Vuitton fake goods in St. Petersburg, Florida yesterday. High-end Nike sneakers, Coach purses, and Coogi clothing knock-offs were confiscated by the police at Shoe Fashion, a retail clothing business, on Fifth Avenue N. after receiving an anonymous tip about the counterfeit sales.Merchandise priced as if realTampa Bay Online reports that all the counterfeit goods were marked down from similar high prices that customers might expect of the genuine articles. Prada jeans at $975 and a Louis Vuitton shirt at $420, both counterfeit and marked down to giveaway, unrealistic sale prices.
The search warrant revealed the famous logo Lacoste shirts, Ed Hardy fake clothing, Coogi, and over 780 pairs of shoes, including the coveted Nike sneakers. Who wouldn't want a real Lacoste alligator shirt for $10?

Knock-offs sold for a pittance

Consumers beware, if designer purses or Nike sneakers are selling at a price that is 'too good to be true,' the business is likely selling fake goods, made out of the country, probably China. Counterfeit merchandise has been a major problem on many online auction sites like Ebay for years.

"For instance, a pair of Nike Jordan sneakers sells for $125, a pair of Nike Air Max for $100, and a pair of Nike Air Force 1 for $80, police said. But at Shoe Fashion, each pair cost $20, and a customer could get three pairs for $50."

Some consumers think selling fake goods is okay

Investigators at the scene said they are trying to send a message that selling counterfeit goods is against the law and competes directly with legitimate business. When consumers buy knock-off goods, they don't realize the trickle-down effect their purchase plays directly to diminish the economy. And the same economic theory applies when consumers hire illegitimate workers. It puts small business owners out of business.

Shop's owner nowhere in sight

Shoe Fashion owner, Alam Shikdar, was not found and no one has been charged as yet in the case. The shop was allowed to remain open and sell the remaining unconfiscated merchandise.

Community Viewpoint: Tolerance Among the Children of Abraham

We are living in a time where faith in God is becoming ever more challenging. Faith communities in general and Muslims in particular, are under ever-increasing pressure. It is because of the intolerance, hatred and disrespect among those who belong to the Abrahamic family, i.e. Muslims, Christians and Jews. When Pastor Terry Jones, of Florida, who is supposed to be the model for his followers and a preacher of the Gospel, burned the Holy Quran, it was out of hatred and disrespect toward all Muslims. He exercised his freedom of speech, but freedom has never been free, and some people have paid the ultimate price for it with their lives. Just because you can do something doesn’t mean that you should. As a tit for tat, an ignorant man on the other side of the world in Afghanistan stormed a United Nations compound and killed innocent people for no reason whatsoever. These attacks were carried out in the most brutal manner and with little regard for human life.

The violence must stop

This violence must stop. It is cruel, inhumane and unjust and is totally against the principles and teachings of Islam. Why all of these fanatics and bigots, hatred and intolerance?

I am not going to talk about others; I would like to justify the religion of Islam, which is being stereotyped by the media. One should remember to go to the source of Islam and separate what the true religion of Islam says from what is portrayed in the media.

We all need to differentiate between the religion of Islam, which symbolizes peace, brotherhood, security, integration and moderation, and the radical Muslims, who want to impose their doctrines upon others through armed struggle. It is as a result of this effort that terrorism comes into being.

No religion has the monopoly on good people. Jews, Christians and Muslims have their disturbed radicals, those who make life miserable for others and who use their sacred books to justify their evil deeds. It is a sociological and human phenomenon and has nothing to do with any religion. If there is conservatism in religion, it begets extremism and radicalism which later cannot be controlled.

Some Muslim extremists try to use the Holy Quran to justify bombing innocent people on trains and planes. But the vast majority of Muslims, supported by the correct understanding of the Quran and sunnah, reject the interpretation of the militants and are sickened by their actions.

There is no place for extremism, fundamentalism or obscurantism in Islam, and those who happen to be extremists are, in fact, unaware of the real spirit of Islam which is based on security, safety, and peace. These principles permeate the lives of Muslims.

The bigot and the zealot are deluded, believing they are doing a service to Islam by harming others, when, in fact, they do the work of Satan. Islam not only condemns the extreme approach but also ordains us to root it out.

The death of Osama bin Ladin will not stop the radical Muslims. Ten others will replace him.

We need good, moderate Islamic scholars and preachers to teach the real spirit of Islam.

If you look to our prophetic role model, you will see that he not only treated followers of the earlier scriptures, the people of the Book, with the utmost respect, but he also urged his followers to do the same.

The Prophet Muhammad — peace be upon him — guaranteed the protection of other religions under Muslim rule. In a well-known saying, he said that anyone who kills a dhimmi (a non-Muslim living in a Muslim land) would not even smell the fragrance of paradise.

The Prophet of Islam inaugurated a constitution and gave it to mankind. He founded a nation-state. Whatever rights he gave to Muslims were also given to the non-Muslims. He gave constitutional protection to the local customs and tribal traditions of the Jews. Their traditions, values and culture were protected through constitutional guarantee. He gave the idea of economic support and founded it on the Brotherhood of Madina. He gave them fundamental rights and complete religious freedom and said the Jews would enjoy the same amount of independence as Muslims with regard to their religion. Madina was declared the “hub of peace.” All fundamental rights such as basic necessities, occupation, property, life and honor were granted.

Prophet Muhammad had so much respect for Christians that he once offered a delegation from Najran (a Christian tribe in Arabia) to say their prayers in his mosque.
